We want every customer to know exactly how our shipping process works so there are no surprises.

How Shipping Works

We ship nationwide using FedEx 2Day service.

FedEx 2Day refers to the delivery time after your order leaves our farm. It is not a guarantee that every order will ship within two days of being placed.

Unlike warehouse retailers, we harvest and pack fresh tomatoes from our fields throughout the week. Every shipment is packed with tomatoes selected specifically for shipping, so your order is shipped as soon as premium fruit is ready.

Once your order leaves our farm, FedEx typically delivers it within two days, and you'll automatically receive an email with tracking information. We typically only ship early in the week, Monday through Wednesday to avoid delays over a weekend.

Occasionally, Orders Move Into the Following Shipping Week

Because every shipment is packed with freshly harvested tomatoes that meet our shipping standards, there are times when demand temporarily exceeds the number of premium tomatoes available during a particular shipping week.

If that happens, your order will automatically move into the next shipping week, and we'll ship it as soon as premium tomatoes are ready.

We would much rather have you wait a few extra days than send tomatoes that don't meet the quality standards our customers expect.

Premium Tomatoes, Hand-Selected for Shipping

Every order is packed with tomatoes that have been individually selected for nationwide shipping. Only about 10% of our crop meets our standards. Size, firmness, ripeness and overall quality all have to be just right to survive the trip and arrive in excellent condition.

Because tomatoes are a natural product, they may arrive ready to enjoy immediately or may benefit from another day or two on your kitchen counter before reaching peak flavor and texture, depending on the individual tomato and your personal preference.

When your tomatoes arrive, remove them from their protective packaging and place them stem-side down at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. Refrigeration is not recommended unless they have reached your desired degree of ripeness and you wish to slow further ripening.

Each shipment contains approximately 7 to 8 pounds of premium Jersey beefsteak tomatoes.

We never use ripening gases or artificial ripening agents. None of our produce is GMO, and we are currently shipping USDA Certified Organic Tomatoes grown on our farm.

Fresh From Our Farm—Never From a Warehouse

Unlike large online retailers, we don't pull tomatoes from warehouse inventory.

Every shipment is packed with tomatoes freshly harvested from our fields and carefully selected for shipping. Our goal is simple: we'd rather delay a shipment a few days than send tomatoes that don't meet the quality standards our customers expect.

About the Price

Shipping fresh tomatoes across the country is expensive.

More than half of the price you pay covers FedEx shipping and the specialized packaging required to deliver fresh tomatoes safely to your door. The tomatoes themselves are priced very similarly to what we charge at our farm market.

Jersey tomatoes are a true seasonal luxury, and we think you'll understand why after your very first bite.
